Warm greetings from AlamKulKul Boutique Resort.
It gives me great pleasure to present this edition of KulKul Beat. This newsletter has been designed to keep you up-to-date with all the latest news, events and special promotions from our resort located just metres from Kuta’s famed sunset beach.
We are entering the last quarter of the year and the island is still buzzing from hosting a bevy of beauties during the recent Miss World 2013 pageant. Bali will once again be in the global spotlight as leaders and heads of state attend the APEC Summit this October. The new airport is also now open for business with upgraded facilities and a smart new look that pays tribute to local art and culture.
Another exciting event coming up is the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival from 11th – 15th October 2013. It is one of the most anticipated events on the international literary calendar and draws writers, poets and likeminded artistic souls from around the world. Interactive workshops, cultural discussions, literary lunches and book launches are just some of the highlights that will be staged against the inspiring backdrop of Ubud.
The next three months will also see a number of celebrations for followers of the Hindu and Islamic faiths, not forgetting Christmas and New Year at the end of December. The Balinese are currently preparing to observe Galungan, which commemorates the universal struggle for righteousness. This is closely followed by Kuningan in honour of defied ancestors.
In the meantime, at AlamKulKul we are continuing our ongoing commitment to re-green the island of Bali though an award-winning tree planting project. We are also asking in-house guests to consider the environment during their stay by refraining from having their bedding and towels washed daily, which puts a huge strain on local water resources. Other thoughtful initiatives such as carrying reusable shopping bags and disposing waste wisely are helping our cause. Together we can all make a small difference as to how we leave the planet for future generations.
